Your Opportunity

  • The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one's field, instructional and professional duties, professional development and service.
    Functions and Duties
  • Instructional duties may include any or all of the following: instructional (teaching assignments); course and program preparation and revision; practicum placement and supervision; student contact; student advising; evaluation and marking of student work and other functions related to instruction. Will be required to teach theory and lab classes, as well as supervise students in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Professional duties may include any or all of the following: curriculum development, student registration and

- pre registration duties.
  • Service may include any or all of the following: school visitations; participation on OC committees; attendance at articulation meetings; representing OC at other function; administrative and other duties
    Education and Experience
  • 1. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. A Master's Degree is preferred. A Diploma in Nursing may be considered with relevant experience.
  • 2. Current active registration with the BCCNM is required.
  • 3. An Instructor's Diploma is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
  • 4. Five or more years experience in Acute, Long Term and /or Community Care is required. Experience in pediatrics, mental health or obstetrics may be an asset.
  • 5. Recent teaching experience an asset

    Schedule
  • Monday-Friday, 30 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends may be required depending on schedules.
    Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
  • Salary range $62,828 to $100,958 annually; normal starting salary between $69,017 and $75,206 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.
