Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk Campbell River, BC


Cermaq Canada is looking to fill the permanent full-time role of Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk to join our team out of our Campbell River office.

In this role, you will receive and process purchasing correspondence, complete data entry invoices for cheque runs, research account activity, deal with vendors, reconcile statements, troubleshoot billing problems, and perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Alongside these duties, you will have opportunities to work with our sales department and their customers, as well as you will get to work with our brand-new ERP program that is currently being rolled out

Position Accountabilities:


  • Review, sort and match vendor invoices to purchase orders, ensure pricing and post vendor bills in a timely manner.
  • Perform cheque runs, wire transfers and EFT payments.
  • Maintain the accounts payable inbox to process and reconcile vendors' statements and invoices.
  • Liaise with all departments to handle and resolve AP inquiries.
  • Set up new vendors.
  • Process employee expense reports
  • Maintain filing system for Accounts Payable team.
  • Respond to vendor enquiries regarding the status of payment.
  • Proactively contribute to and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other accounting project as required by management.
  • Reminding customers about upcoming payments or pastdue accounts
  • Making electronic or cash deposits to company bank accounts
  • Maintain records of payments and account statuses.
  • Perform monthly invoice accruals.

Position Requirements:


  • Postsecondary education is desired, preferable with accounting courses.
  • Minimum 12 years accounts payable or accounting experience
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Proficient knowledge Microsoft Office, specifically of Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Selfmotivated, has a positive attitude and a resultsoriented approach to business.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Prerequisite to hiring include a criminal record check and reference checks.
