Vermeer Canada is growing, both in our portfolio and our team We are looking for a result's driven 1st Year HD Mechanic Apprentice passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on Health and Safety
- Becomes familiar with the practical operation of all equipment
- Perform regular scheduled maintenance and repairs
- Ensures related documentation, i.e. Service reports, timesheets, parts request, etc., are properly completed
- Reviews factory service and safety bulletins & other pertinent information to ensure equipment is up to date
- Ability to learn to PDI's new equipment
- Conveys a professional presence, ensuring problems are well explained, customer relations are satisfied
- Maintains and leaves all work areas clean, unobstructed, in a safe and orderly working condition
- Attends and participates in daily toolbox/safety meetings
- Ability to learn how to troubleshoot equipment failures or malfunctions, initiating parts and field service repairs to reduce or avoid unnecessary customer downtime.
- Ability to check completed work and test repaired equipment for performance and reliability
- Highly motivated, with the ability to listen/learn and be an effective communicator, able to work as directed and in a team environment.
- Detail orientated, possessing a high standard in "Quality of Workmanship" (Doing it right the first time)
- 1st year Heavy Equipment Technician
- Previous mechanical experience or experience with Vermeer, Case, and other HD equipment including Drills, HD Trucks, etc.
- Good communication skills in both technical and nontechnical aspects
- Clean drivers license min class 3 or 5 (preferred)
- Full time/Day Shift/Overtime. Scheduled Days off. Hotel accommodations while working away from Calgary.
