This is an exciting opportunity for a Recreational Aide in the Adult Inpatient Program, Complex Services at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury.

CCMHBI is a campus of specialists and health professionals that are committed to integrated, multi-disciplinary care and treatment to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families.

This position requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are large contributors to success in this position.

The successful applicant is able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support addiction and mental health patients and assist in planning and implementation of recreational and leisure activities.

Reporting to the Unit Manager and working in consultation with the Recreation Therapist and Therapy Assistant, you will coordinate unit, off unit and community programs and other activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of Health Care Aide or Mental Health Aide Certificate or equivalent. Current BCLS-HCP Level C-Health Care Provider. Have the ability to communicate effectively with the public, patients and staff. At least one year of experience working with patients in a mental health setting.


Preferred Qualifications:

Valid Class 4 Driver License preferred. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NCI). Skills in a variety of recreational activities are desirable.
