    Effective April 1, 4 a new part-time (0.5FTE) faculty position is available for a General Pediatrician with an interest in long-term neurodevelopment or Developmental Pediatrician to join the Neonatal Follow-up Clinic team in the Department of Paediatrics, Mount Sinai Hospital, which is an academic health science centre affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Department of Pediatrics has a tradition of excellence in Neonatal clinical care, education and research and is closely allied to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Department provides primary and tertiary perinatal care at regional, provincial and national levels for newborn infants who need specialized services due to extreme preterm gestation or known congenital abnormalities. The Department in conjunction with the Division of Neonatology at the Hospital for Sick Children and Sunnybrook Hospital forms part of a Fellowship Training Program in Neonatology which is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

    The neurodevelopmental follow up clinic is located within the Department of Pediatrics and provides post-discharge follow-up for extremely preterm neonates of < weeks gestation and for other infants at high risk of neurodevelopmental disabilities including but not limited to those receiving specific fetal diagnosis or therapy.

    Job Requirements

    The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. We are looking for a candidate who has completed General Pediatrics training and has either extensive experience as a provider of neurodevelopmental follow-up care in a similar setting or has completed developmental pediatric fellowship training to support the long-term developmental needs of our population. The successful candidate must have a proven record for excellence in provision of clinical care and demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and education in the field. In addition to clinical duties in the neurodevelopmental follow up clinic, the position will involve participating in the educational activities for medical trainees and allied healthcare providers and in clinic administration.

    All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto must have specialty training in Pediatric Medicine and be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This position will remain open until filled. Rank and salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
