ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR
Tercot Communities
Tercot Communities is a land development and construction company specializing in the residential housing market in the Southern Ontario region.
The Position:
The position is full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daytoday accounting for various projects, with focus on AP, AR, payroll, and employee expenses.
- Fullcycle bookkeeping, with focus on the preparation of adjusting journal entries.
- Manage all banking transactions, including deposits, wire transfers, and bank/credit card reconciliation.
- Track mortgage payments for multiple projects.
- File payroll source deductions, WSIB, and EHT filing.
- Assist in filing HST and corporate tax returns.
- Assist with yearend filings and audits, as required.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reporting.
- Assist in updating project cash flow forecasts and monthly budget forecasts.
- Provide support for all ad hoc accounting requests.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience in a similar role.
- Undergraduate degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or related field, with plans to pursue CPA designation.
- Experience in the real estate investment and/or development industry required.
- Quicklearning, selfdriven, and motivated professional.
- Exceptional organizational skills multitask effectively and accurately with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and use sound judgment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced MS Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Experience in a public accounting firm an asset.
- Knowledge of Jonas Premier Accounting Software an asset.
