Metalworks Institute is the educational branch of The Metalworks Group, we are a sister company to the world-famous Metalworks Studios (recording studio) and Metalworks Production Group (live event production) and emerging tech start-up SoundsUnite (app-based music education).
As the Administrative Assistant you will support the Academics Team and The Student Success Team as we teach the next generation of music industry professional.
The role will vary with the cadence of the academic year, you will help organize and deliver student life events, tutoring sessions, drop-in workshops, special events, guest lectures.
You will provide back-up support for reception on occasion, take minutes in meetings and help make sure that special projects continue to move forward.
We are looking for someone organized and driven while being enthusiastic about creating the best environment possible for student success - someone who is comfortable being a coach and a cheerleader
We are looking for someone that is passionate about education and music, ideally someone with a Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor of Music, but we'll consider other credentials.
The Administrative Assistant needs to be creative and willing to adapt to shifting priorities during the natural cadence of the academic.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in administrative support, customer service, postsecondary education, summer camp, tutoring, events organizations, or comparable
- A passion for helping people find their professional path in life
- Selfmotivated, ethical, and dependable with exceptional people skills, strong communication skills (speaking and writing), dynamic presentation skills and be committed to providing high levels of customer service.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to perform job duties with mínimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multitask and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to present information effectively to small or large groups and respond to questions from the general public
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
