Job Summary

Trotec Laser, a global leader in laser technology, is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to enhance our Technical Services team in Langley, BC.

Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, this role involves a dynamic range of responsibilities including customer and technical support, troubleshooting and resolving both software and hardware issues, installation of laser machines, support in tradeshow preparations, and performing preventative maintenance checks.

This position requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and a commitment to quality.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide effective solutions to customer queries and technical issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Installation and Setup: Efficiently install and configure laser machines at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance.

Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance tours, identify potential issues, and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

Tradeshow Assistance: Play a key role in setting up and dismantling tradeshow displays, demonstrating technical proficiency and product knowledge.

Customer Training: Educate customers on the safe and effective use of laser machines, enhancing their user experience.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.


Required Qualifications:

Educational Background: 2-year college diploma in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related technical field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in electro-mechanical diagnosis and repair, preferably with office machinery, digital printing, or CNC equipment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Windows 10 desktop support (minimum one year), fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, LAN, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Driving License: Valid driver's license with thorough knowledge of the Greater Vancouver Area.

Soft Skills: Exceptional customer service, communication, punctuality, and reliability.


Additional Qualifications (Preferred but not required):

• Experience in the usage, repair, and maintenance of wide format digital printers, laser cutters, and engravers.
• At least 3 years of experience with a CAD/CAM software package (e.g., AutoCAD, CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator).

$52,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
