This position is located at site in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (MB), and is not available for remote work.


The Maintenance Planner is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance Planning for a cell while collaborating closely with Production teams analyzes and defines scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance work processes, in mechanical electrical and instrumental spheres.

Also, responsible for all activities involving the Planning and Maintenance Control of Equipment in their perimeter.

Establishes strategies to support the technical reliability teams on corrective measures to increase the availability and reliability of assets, efficiently, effectively, and safely.

Collaborates closely to/with SME (Subject Matter Experts) regarding mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation problems.


PRACTICAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

  • Plan all work orders to schedule planned, preventive, predictive and calibration corrective maintenance, providing the necessary resources.
  • Prepare all the work order for scheduling maintenance (Spare, SOP, specific tool, permit)
  • Support Cell team on resource issues for corrective maintenance (purchase of spare parts, tools, contracting services and technical assistance).
  • Support Cell team on resource issues on curative maintenance (spares, work permit, tools )
  • Manage the maintenance schedule and KPIs together with the Cell Leaders, Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors and Reliability Coordinator.
  • Receive feedback from Millwrights and Operators to improve planning and give feedback to the technical service to update the maintenance strategy.
  • Control the asset availability index through MTBF indicators (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repairs).
  • The expected result is to increase the reliability of the planning of preventive and predictive maintenance of production equipment in relation to: HSE, Quality, OEE / Yields with adherence to planning and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 35 years of similar maintenance experience
- formal maintenance planner training
- the ability to interpret and use the following (to develop job plans):

  • piping and instrumentation diagrams
- equipment drawings
- predictive maintenance reporting o hydraulic and electrical schematic

  • Good knowledge of CMMS tools and system
  • Technical background in food, chemical, or similar production industry
  • 5 years as Millwright and/or 3 years as Maintenance Planner on similar production industry
  • Engineer Degree/or Red seal certification (Millwright)
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of organization skills
