Reporting to the Assistant Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will help Ottawa Tourism to achieve our mission and realize our vision by providing administrative and operational support to the marketing team.

This is a position ideally suited for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is passionate about Ottawa, and who wants to share this passion with the world.

The position will work closely with others on the marketing team and across the organization as a whole. We're looking for an individual who loves to tackle challenging and complex problems and turn them into actionable solutions.

Bringing knowledge and skills gained through a combination of education and experience, the successful applicant will play a key supporting role in helping us to maximize and optimize our overall marketing function.

This position is based out of the Ottawa Tourism offices in beautiful downtown Ottawa. Ottawa Tourism employs a hybrid work model, with some ability for all employees to work remotely.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide overall administrative and operational support to the marketing team including reports, presentations, logistics
  • Assist with effective implementation and project management of marketing efforts
  • Work crossfunctionally with members of the marketing team and Ottawa Tourism's Business Events, Major Events, and Travel Trade departments to support marketing efforts
  • Work collaboratively with members of the marketing team to contribute to new ideas and to improve Ottawa Tourism's overall marketing function
  • Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating and providing administrative support
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Postsecondary qualification in a relevant field
  • Proficiency across MS Office suite; general technological proficiency
  • Proficiency using database/CRM platforms, along with some level of experience using backend web capabilities
Assets

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is considered a strong asset for this position.
  • Experience with onsite activations and promotional events, and event management
  • Ottawa Tourism is located and operates on the traditional and unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin people, who have travelled and inhabited these lands for millennia._
