    Intermediate Biologist/Wetland Ecologist (SP/CGY/GP)

    North Shore has immediate opportunities for an Intermediate Biologist/Wetland Ecologist based out of either our Calgary, Sherwood Park, or Grande Prairie offices.

    Key Responsibilities
    Complete desktop wetland identification, classification, and delineations utilizing aerial imagery and GIS software
    Complete field assessments to support biophysical assessment projects with an emphasis on wetlands, vegetation, and soils
    Prepare and review reports including the development of wetland avoidance and mitigation strategies to support client projects
    Exposure to Project Management duties including stakeholder engagement and communication, scope development, cost estimating, budgeting, and final deliverables
    Provide assistance to senior staff and train junior staff, as required
    Implement corporate and client safety programs
    Qualifications
    Must possess a post-secondary degree in biological sciences (or related discipline)
    Must be considered a qualified wetland practitioner as directed under the Alberta Wetland Policy that holds an authenticating professional designation (P. Biol, P. Ag., etc.)
    Possess 5-10 years of related wetland experience
    Advanced working knowledge of industry standard reporting tools (Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS), AER Onestop, etc.)
    Proven experience with wetland reporting required under the Water Act (WAIF, WAIR, etc.)
    Willingness to travel and work in remote locations for extended periods of time
    Excellent communication, writing, and problem solving skills
    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry
    Valid driver's license
    Good physical health and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
    Willingness to work within a team environment
    Highly organized and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in pre-disturbance construction project planning and permitting. Experience in reclamation and closure activities would also be considered an asset. Compensation will be based upon the candidate's experience.
