The L3Harris MAPPS Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) running on board various military ships throughout the world is built using software developed by L3Harris MAPPS.


The incumbent will lead the team responsible for the development and coordination of the training materials (and courseware) related to all aspects of the IPMS product (development, operational and maintenance).

The group will also be responsible for development and support of the IPMS automated test tool used for release validation, regression testing and acceptance testing.


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Analyze the requirements and decompose into various items for distribution amongst the team;
  • Plan and assign the work to the team in order to meet the various deadlines;
  • Evaluate and coach the technical writers, course developers and instructors in the team;
  • Develop and maintain the infrastructure to support all the training needs related to IPMS;
  • Participate in the training sessions offered to internal/external customers of the IPMS;
  • Design, develop, test and support courseware for internal/external customers of the IPMS;
  • Provide support to PRE-FAT as required;
  • Provide support to marketing department for specific demos and presentations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical, software or computer engineer with over 10 years of experience;
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication or related discipline preferably in a technical field such as computer science or a focus on English writing or communications, or at least 10 years of experience in writing documentation for software or in technical training;
  • Previous experience as Instructor training especially in IPMS training is an asset;
  • Experience working with the following preferred tools : Word, Author-It, Acrobat;
  • Experience in presenting technical information in a live setting, classroom training, video conference;
  • Regular use of a content management system (CMS) to manage the lifecycle of technical documentation including draft, review, and publish phases;
  • Proficiency in the development and delivery of training/facilitated learning;
  • Experience in the development and usage of the L3 IPMS product is preferable;
  • Has leadership to drive a team of technical writers, course developers and instructors;
  • Well organized and capable of planning/distribute work for the team;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and experience working with content in multiple mediums.
