Overview:


We are hiring for a part-time and contract-based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant OR Communicate Disorders Assistant position to join our team providing clinical services to children, and adults requiring Speech Therapy.

In this position, you'll be providing Speech Therapy alongside a supervising Speech Language Pathologist to clients based on your criteria.


We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team who is comfortable working in multiple in-home environments, to provide direct care services.

About the Role:


We are looking for a Communicative Disorders Assistant and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to work with our Speech Language Pathologists primarily with children and paediatric clients, providing early intervention to promote development and make a difference in their speech capabilities.


In this role, you will be providing direct one-on-one clinical services to implement client-specific speech and language intervention techniques as instructed by your supervising SLP.

You will be administering direct service in the clients home, or community setting to ensure maximum comfort for the client, and provide the best chance at success in implementing speech therapy techniques and changes.

You will be required to record data and document progress through detailed SOAP notes on our online platform, Alayacare, as well as actively communicating with Speech Associates leadership, staff, and your supervising SLP.


Speech Associates provides speech therapy services to children of all age groups, and for a variety of speech and language goals including articulation, motor speech, fluency, social pragmatics, and literacy.

Qualifications - What We're Looking For:


Requirements:

Diploma, Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA Position only):


  • Current enrolment in an SLP Master's program and/or 2+ years working as or with an SLP (SLP-A Position Only):
  • Ability to Travel: Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle or other reliable methods of transportation (e.g. public transit)
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, clients and their families.
  • A passion for helping others with their communication goals
  • Ability to work evenings (3pm6pm), and weekends to meet client schedules.

Assets

  • 1+ Year(s) providing clinical care, implementing speech and language teaching strategies.
  • Previous experience using Alayacare for SOAP notes, or related software
  • CDAAC Membership (CDA Position)
  • A BSc, or Diploma in a related field
  • Interest and experience working with the paediatric population, including children on the spectrum

Salary:
$50.00-$60.00 per hour
