    We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven senior-level Program Consultant to join the Ontario Music Office team at Ontario Creates.

    In this role, you will play a key role in promoting and enhancing the business development and market potential of Ontario's diverse music sector.


    As a Program Consultant, you will lead investment fund program delivery for the music sector, support strategic business development and capacity-building initiatives, and plan and facilitate high impact business events.

    You will use your industry expertise to support innovative new initiatives to meet the goals of Ontario Creates' strategic plan, and your work will directly contribute to the domestic and international growth of Ontario businesses, positioning Ontario as a leader in creative industries innovation.

    What can I expect to do in this role?

    In this role, you will:


    • Develop and deliver music programs that will provide financial and strategic support Ontario music companies to create market, sell content and advance their business development goals
    • Develop and build funding programs for equity deserving music communities
    • Lead the delivery of business initiatives and provide program analysis
    • Provide expert advice on industry trends, markets and partnership programs
    • Coordinate Ontario's presence at key domestic and international markets, festivals and trade shows
    • Develop and strengthen relationships with key domestic and international stakeholders

    How do I qualify?

    Specialized Knowledge



    • You have knowledge of creative media industries with subject matter expertise in the music industry.
    • You have knowledge of business and industrial development theories, programs and strategies including ability to understand business development support programs towards implementing programs, marketing plans and strategic initiatives.
    • You have experience in program development and marketing to provide effective program and service delivery and the ability to identify cross-sector opportunities with other media industries.

    Research, Analytical and Planning Skills



    • You have demonstrated research and analytical skills to analyze, identify and advise on industry and market trends, identify gaps and implement opportunities to develop and promote program, marketing and promotional initiatives and partnerships with key stakeholders.
    • You have planning and problem-solving skills to coordinate effective program delivery.

    Project Management, Organizational and Budgeting Skills



    • You possess project management experience to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • You can plan and monitor budgets, conduct financial analysis and track program results.

    Communication, Negotiation and Consultation Skills



    • You have well-developed oral and written communication skills to represent Ontario Creates by speaking publicly about Ontario Creates programs and services and to prepare marketing and program related materials, including stakeholder correspondence, guidelines, communications plans, briefing notes and funding recommendations.
    • You have strong consultation, negotiation and partnership-building skills to foster positive working relationships.
    • You have experience using personal computer and word processing, database and spreadsheet software to prepare own correspondence, reports and materials
