We are currently looking for Energy and Dispatch Optimization Analyst to join our team in a Permanent position. Reporting to the Energy and Dispatch Optimization Specialist.


As Energy and Dispatch Optimization Analyst, you will:

Conduct comprehensive analysis of energy systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure, to identify optimization opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.

Monitor and analyze power market trends, including supply, demand, pricing, and regulatory developments, to identify market opportunities and risks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and business development professionals, to develop comprehensive energy strategies that align with market dynamics and system requirements; as well as with market analysts, traders, and finance teams to provide analytical support and guidance on market dynamics, and risk assessment.

Support the development of forecasting models to predict market trends, price movements, and future energy demand within the context of evolving energy systems.

Utilize data analysis and modeling techniques to assess the impact of policy changes, environmental regulations, and market dynamics on energy system planning and operations.

Stay updated on emerging energy technologies, market regulations, and industry standards to provide informed recommendations on energy system design and market participation.

What skills will make you successful?

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Science, Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is considered an asset.
Experience as an analyst, especially in the energy or electric utility industry, energy/commodity trading, or other regulated industries.
Awareness of energy systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure, as well as market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and forecasting techniques.
Advanced skills in Excel (including VBA) is essential.
Experience with Python, C# and/or SQL would be considered an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
High attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
