    Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated clinical competence in nursing practice
  • Previous oncology nursing experience essential
  • Previous medical/surgical and or critical care/emergency experience required
  • Palliative care nursing experience an asset
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • . Oncology Certification or Community College Course preferred
  • Oncology Nursing Certification ( certification or D'Souza provincial standardized chemotherapy biotherapy course is required or evidence of enrolment upon hiring.
  • Recent/current experience with . starts, phlebotomies, CVAD experience and certification, with expertise in various types of infusion pumps and chemotherapy administration
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work as a cohesive member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Positive attendance and work record essential
  • CPR – Health care provider level C required
  • Position Summary

    The successful candidate will:

  • Participate in the multidisciplinary management of oncology patients in the ambulatory setting including systemic therapy, supportive care and physician visits.
  • Responsible for providing high quality nursing care throughout the cancer continuum encompassing physical, psychosocial, spiritual and educational needs of patients
  • Internal Candidates who believe they possess the necessary qualifications and experience for this position and who have been in their current position for at least six (6) months are encouraged to apply.
