    Our client, a manufacturing company located in Brampton, ON is looking for a General Manager to join their team.

    What you will do in this role:

    • Must be able to estimate steel projects and develop clear and detailed project scope for the customer.
    • Review drawings and coordinate any changes on site and with shop.
    • Attend various job sites to verify prefabrication measurements and to plan method of installation.
    • Manage ongoing shop projects and organize manpower accordingly for both fabrication and installation.
    • Effectively supervise employees and manage all departments.
    • Detailed knowledge of metal fabricating processes and related quality standards. These processes include MIG and TIG welding, fitting, and bending.
    • Ensure that projects are running on schedule, procured, and fabricated in a timely manner.
    • Familiar with purchasing practices and ability to follow up with vendors.
    • Assist with the planning, organizing and evaluation of construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
    • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
    • Assist with the hiring activities of subcontractors and personnel.
    • Attend and participate in site-visits, as well as pre-bid and post-bid meetings.
    • Negotiate contract change commercial and schedule adjustments.

    What you will bring to the role:

    • Familiar with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and basic engineering principles.
    • 5+ years of Steel Fabrication knowledge
    • Highly Proficient at performing math and weight calculations.
    • Proficient at reading engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings, and specifications
    • Understanding of steel fabrication process, steel grades, misc. steel, stairs, fabrication procedures, and installation requirements
    • Possess a technical diploma from a recognized institute, or a degree in structural engineering is an asset.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

    • Solid team player with a positive attitude
    • Thrives on managing multiple priorities and project deadlines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Project
