    The Senior Analyst is responsible for the development, and maintenance of data models and underlying datasets to forecast needs for physicians in Canada.

    Major activities include design and optimization of datasets, data analysis to derive insights, trends and forecasts, collaboration with cross-functional teams, development and maintenance of accurate documentation, effective communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, keeping abreast of industry trends and leveraging opportunities to adapt models and approaches based on the evolving nature of the health workforce labour market and organizational needs.

    Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of the landscape of HHR in Canada's health care system including priorities, policies, and research initiatives.

    Develops and maintains data models to represent the structure and relationships with a labor market dataset.
    Designs and optimizes datasets to efficiently store and retrieve data needed for modelling and relevant labour market data.
    Conducts thorough analysis using statistical methods and machine learning to derive insights, trends, and forecasts from labour market data.
    Works closely with cross functional teams to understand data needs and provide relevant solutions.
    Documents data models, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure transparency and reproducibility in analysis and forecasting.
    Mentors, supports, and provides training to other team members.
    Undergraduate degree in economics, data science, statistics or a related field.


    • 3 to 5 years' experience handling large datasets, conducting data analyses, statistical modeling and contributing to the dissemination of results and/or tools.
    • Knowledge of the Canadian health system and of health human resources dynamics, analysis, and planning.
    • Experience with predictive analytics, time series analyses and econometric modelling.
    • Experience in programming languages such as Python and R. Experience using forecasting tools is an asset.
    • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience in interpreting and writing methodological notes, analysis, and synthesizing findings.
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to conceptualize key analytical questions and develop data analysis plans for yourself and the team.
    • Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
