Freelance/Contract Drafting

As a prominent Hospitality Design firm, McMillan Design is looking to grow our network of contacts for freelance drafting to support our client's growing needs and evolving brands.

We are currently looking for skilled independent AutoCAD drafts-people that we can collaborate with for future projects.


Accountabilities:

• Ability to translate a design development package including finish boards, full 3D renderings and floorplans into fully assembled construction drawings with mínimal supervision including floor plans, elevations, millwork details, etc. using AutoCAD
• Responsible for completing working drawings of interior projects under the direction of a lead designer
• Input red line markups quickly and effectively

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited architectural technology or interior design school
• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Fully versed in the Ontario Building Code having experience with large scale commercial, mixed use and restaurant buildings; BCIN an asset
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of mill work, woodworking & finishing detail
• Ability to work independently and follow direction.
• Organizational skills proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects, priorities and workflows on schedule and within budget.
• Experience in the restaurant and hospitality design is an asset but not a requirement.
