DESCRIPTION:
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN- Burnaby, BC
As a Laboratory Technician for CARO, your main responsibilities include:
- Perform sample preparation using documented procedures -filtration, screening, extraction & digestion.
- Maintain control charts as per the QA/QC Manual requirements, monitor for failure to meet tolerances and institute remedial action immediately and effectively.
- Follow analytical methods in accordance with SOPs and specific study requirements.
- Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc.
- Review and validate generated test data.
- Dispose samples according to local regulations.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentation.
- Assist in developing new and revising existing SOPs and validation schedules.
- Assist to restock laboratory consumables/chemicals, and general laboratory cleanup and maintenance (when needed) and complete other administrative duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University or College degree/diploma in related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a production laboratory is preferred.
- GCMS or LCMS experience is an asset.
- Proficient with standard computer software (MS Office, LIMS, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Selfstarting with solid followthrough and multitasking capabilities.
- Detail orientated & record keeping skills.
- Managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Flexible working hours (evenings and weekends) during peak periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lb.
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Experience:
- working in a laboratory: 1 year (preferred)
- LCMS: 1 year (preferred)
