About the Opportunity:


We currently have an opportunity for an
Events Specialist to join our team in
Toronto, ON, on a
full-time, permanent basis.


Hours:37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday (with periodic work on evenings and weekends at events and committee meetings)


Reporting to the Manager, Special Events, the
Events Specialist **plays a fundamental role in supporting various aspects of fundraising events and outreach activities, specifically related to the planning, execution and growth of Casey House Foundation's signature events, stewardship events and community events.

In addition to supporting the planning and execution of special event initiatives and campaigns consistent with the goals and objectives outlined by Casey House Foundation, your responsibilities in this role will entail, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the Manager of Special Events to support the development, growth and execution of the hospital's three signature events.
  • Own and oversee the organization's community events portfolio with a focus on growing thirdparty fundraising opportunities during Pride Month.
  • Lead the preparation, logistics and execution of event day fundraising activities (i.e., raffles, silent auctions, pledgedrives).
  • Support donor tours and receptions in collaboration with development officers to showcase the great work of the hospital and the impact of donor giving.
  • Work closely with the hospital's communications team, leveraging their expertise to develop event communications and collateral.
  • Maintain and steward positive relationships with event participants, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Prepare meeting presentations and notes.
  • Manage data entry and maintain accurate event information in the database.

About You:


In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum
3 years of progressive experience in events management, preferably in the hospital, non-profit or arts and culture sector, and be able to demonstrate your experience in the
design and execution of fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events.


The following qualifications will ensure your success in this role:

  • Experience building positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including major gift donors, senior volunteers, clients, vendors and artists.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on organizing information and data in spreadsheets and preparing presentations.
  • Experience writing compelling copy for events in a fundraising environment.
  • Be a motivated selfstarter who takes initiative, solves problems and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven capacity to work in a dynamic and shifting environment with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • A College diploma or bachelor's degree is an asset, however experience and a good attitude are much more important
