One of our distriution clients is looking for a General Manager responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the center.

Their role is crucial in ensuring that the center runs efficiently and effectively to meet its objectives and deliver products or services to customers.

Here are some of the key responsibilities and duties typically associated with this role:


Leadership and Management:
Provide leadership and direction to the center's staff, including department managers, sales teams, and distribution personnel. Set clear goals and expectations for the team and ensure they are aligned with the company's overall objectives. Hire, train, and evaluate employees to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.


Sales and Marketing:
Conduct regular branch meetings with the engagement of Sales and Operations teams to ensure cross-functional alignment.

Collaborate with sales teams to manage profit and loss targets; set pricing; and engage in strategic planning for large quotations.


Inventory and Distribution:
Oversee inventory management to ensure the availability of products while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs. Manage distribution logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to customers.


Financial Management:
Develop and manage the center's budget, ensuring it is in line with the company's financial goals. Monitor expenses, revenue, and profitability, and take appropriate actions to optimize financial performance.


Customer Service:
Focus on customer satisfaction and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.


Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that the center operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. Implement and maintain safety protocols to protect employees and assets.


Performance Analysis:
Regularly assess the center's performance by analyzing data and key performance indicators (KPIs). Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Communication:
Keep senior management informed of the center's performance and any significant developments. Foster effective communication within the center to maintain a cohesive and productive work environment.


Problem Solving:


Address and resolve issues or challenges that arise in daily operations, whether they relate to personnel, processes, or external factors.


Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development of long-term strategies and goals for the distribution and sales center. Stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape to make informed strategic decisions.


The role of a General Manager for a distribution and sales center requires strong leadership skills, the ability to make data-driven decisions, and a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO OUR TEAM:
Post-secondary degree or diploma, with a focus in business or a technical discipline preferred.

2-3 years people management experience

5 years experience in MRO industry or conveyor systems and related components and services; or equivalent experience in a similar industry

Experience interacting with all levels of an organization from Senior Management to field, as well as customers.
