Position Description:


Role Description:


  • Work closely with the Director, Policy and Economic Research on projects of strategic importance to the Board, with the aim of supporting key economic enablers for the Toronto Region
  • Lead key policy files, including the development of reports, engagement with stakeholders, and delivering other outputs that generate impact
  • Analyze data encompassing traditional economic indicators, regional economic data and other privatesector data sets to develop insights and help inform public policy
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses across a variety of policy areas
  • Engage with stakeholders to better understand challenges and develop innovative and actionable solutions
  • Synthesize research into impactful, actionorientated presentations and reports to share internally and externally

Your experience includes:


  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in Economics or a related field of study, including Public Policy or other Social Sciences; A graduate degree is an asset
  • At least 35 years of experience related to economic research, public policy, regional economic development, and/or data analytics
  • Interest in and knowledge of applied public policy research, particularly at the municipal and provincial level
  • Experience working in a highly productive research environment or consulting is an asset
  • Ability to understand policy issues, assess them and develop feasible solutions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in print and in presentations
  • Ability to operate in a fastpaced, resultsoriented organization
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
