The Pilot Group performs pilot studies on customer sites to test our water and

wastewater treatment technologies' performance on the customer's water source. Pilot

studies are performed using our fleet of pilot equipment mainly focused on membrane

bioreactors, (MBR), ultrafiltration (UF) membranes, reverse osmosis (RO) membranes,

and physical-chemical processes such as clarifiers and dissolved air floatation (DAF).

Our equipment is stored and maintained in our two Pilot Shops in North America. Pilot

studies generate design data for future full-scale plants and provides our customers a

chance to see the final product and solution performing at a pilot scale at their facility.

Pilot Project Managers are instrumental in the success of a pilot study through their

planning, communication and leadership during the study. The Pilot Project Manager

coordinates all aspects of the study in collaboration with our customer and an internal

team. The role combines aspects of project management, process engineering, and on
- site field service. Pilot studies can include a wide variety of pilot-scale water treatment

technologies. The Pilot Project Manager represents the company and builds

relationships with customers that contribute to securing future business for full-scale

projects.

Pilot Project Managers align the team to the pilot study objectives, prepare pilot study

workplans, liaise with the Pilot Shop for the preparation and shipment of pilot equipment,

host project meetings, monitor equipment and provide remote equipment support, collect

and analyze process and analytical data, optimize the process parameters based on

operating data and customer objectives, manage budget and schedule, and write the

final report for the study. Pilot Project Managers also participate in pilot equipment

commissioning, decommissioning, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of pilot

scale water and wastewater treatment systems.

Pilot Project Managers work hands-on with various types of mechanical equipment such

as pumps and blowers, valves, chemical dosing equipment, PVC piping, and various

types of instrumentation (pH, oxidation-reduction potential [ORP], conductivity, turbidity)

to test, troubleshoot, and maintain the equipment. They also work with V

motors, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), programmable logic

controllers (PLCs) using Allen Bradley or Automation Direct products, and electrical

control panels. Other responsibilities include collection and bench-scale analysis of

water samples, training customer's operators to operate the pilot equipment, working in

accordance with our and the customer's safety protocols, and maintaining an organized

job site.

This position will report to the Pilot Engineering Leader and work closely with customers,

Pilot Field Service Representatives, Process Engineers, and the Sales team.
