Commercial Underwriter.

Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with MIB Broker Partners and carrier underwriters (as needed).
  • Create and update new business & renewal submissions, and market existing business, if required.
  • Manage a book of business with a mix of small to medium commercial insurance accounts within an MGA/Specialty Market.
  • Negotiate coverages, rates, and premiums with insurance underwriters and MIB brokers.
  • Review inspection reports and follow up for outstanding recommendations (as needed).
  • Manage accounts receivable invoicing for the submissions you are handling.
  • Work closely with the claims department regarding settlements, if required.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as required.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of two (2) years work experience in a brokerage (specialty commercial focused) or similar amount of time within an MGA setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word and Excel
