Maintenance Supervisor
- Managing, motivating, developing, and providing direct leadership to maintenance staff by reinforcing and encouraging a highperformance culture and safe working environment for all employees.
- Communicating and enforcing all company health & safety policies, practices, and rules.
- Investigating workplace accidents/incidents within the work area(s) under your responsibility.
- Communicating, strategizing, and coordinating maintenance activities within the team and with all relevant stakeholders such as Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.
- Leading and supporting critical communication rhythms and meetings such as shift handovers, production reviews, maintenance scheduling and KPI review meetings.
- Executing all scheduled work in a timely manner by guiding team members on prioritization of work including emergency/breakdown work.
- Monitoring and implementing actions to meet or exceed KPI targets.
- Supervising and periodically audit maintenance work completed by team members and/or Contractors ensuring work is completed following all company policies and procedures including GMP, Health & Safety requirements.
- Accurately documenting all completed maintenance work in CMMS.
- Supporting the planning, scheduling and execution of capital projects and shutdowns/turnarounds/asset restoration plans.
- Ensuring compliance with all internal/external auditors and support execution of corrective actions when deficiencies are identified.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable provincial and federal labour regulations and adhere to the terms and conditions specified in the appropriate collective bargaining agreements.
- Leading and/or supporting the execution of Root Cause Failure Analysis to mitigate repeat failures and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Representing Maintenance on crossfunctional project teams and support implementation of continuous improvement projects.
What you bring:
- A College/University graduate from an electro / mechanical program.
- A trade certification as a Licensed Millwright or Licensed Electrician with related experience (highly preferred).
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive industry.
- Completion of MMP and/or CMRP or working towards is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Familiar with the concept of world class maintenance and best practices.
- Familiar with Six Sigma, RCM, and autonomous maintenance principles.
- Knowledgeable in preventive and predictive maintenance tactics.
- Willing and flexible to work alternating shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Comfortable using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Recognized for their ability to troubleshoot and demonstrated organizational skills.
- Able to manage resources effectively using key performance indicators and benchmarking.
- Proven record for identifying issues and implementing solutions to mitigate repeat failures.
