Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Controls Lead is accountable for the development, implementation and oversight of all Project Controls initiatives and functions as required to successfully execute projects in accordance with internal and client-based reporting requirements.

This role will be camp-based on a project in British Columbia, Alberta, or Saskatchewan.

What We Are Looking For

  • Responsible for implementing company project controls program, procedures, and standards
  • Responsible to manage the set up of project PM system with related cost, qty, hrs data, while ensuring alignment with estimate.
  • Responsible to manage project cost and revenue budgets.
  • Responsible to manage the project scope change management process including estimating, cost management and forecasting (Delays, Productivity Issues, Extra Work, etc).
  • Responsible to oversee daily timesheet labor, equipment and procurement costs and their allocation to the correct CBS code.
  • Responsible to for the assessment reporting of project committed, incurred and forecasted costs.
  • Oversee the management of CPM resource loaded schedules created and provided by the Scheduling Team, EPC and third part contractors.
  • Ensure that project cost coding management is appropriate for all original budget cost code allocations, scope changes and internal cost trends.
  • Responsible to produce project and portfolio cost and cashflow reporting.
  • Coordinate with other members of the construction management team to ensure that direct and subcontractor trades productivity is managed, understood and incorporated into cost forecasting.
  • Responsible to produce Earned Value Management reporting.
  • Coordinate the daily LEMS workflow to ensure the timely approval of project invoicing and transparent information in the event of a project financial audit.
  • Responsible to manage the project monthly invoicing process. Ensure that it is prepared on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate with Finance Team to track project receivables.
  • Direct and manage all cost management analysis for internal Profit and Loss Quarterly reporting.
  • Ensure that project risk and contingency is accounted for and managed appropriately.
  • Ensure that project accruals are calculated and communicate with the project finance team.
  • Aid in the development of continuous improvement reporting for the Construction Management team.
  • Responsible for creating work breakdown structure and interfacing with cost and resource loaded schedules in Primavera P6 v19 or higher on assigned projects and programs in accordance with the Client's project management processes.
  • Responsible for developing baseline Earned Value Management performance standards, controls, and reporting based on the defined project planning strategy.
  • Assist with major construction projects, including liaison with Consulting Engineers, Subcontractors, Stakeholders, and Clients.
  • Updating project files and producing reports.
  • Manage changes and capture progress for accurate reporting.
  • Assist in quantity tracking and record historical data.
  • Use the output from the scheduling, estimating, and cost analysis reports to monitor forecast and report on overall budget, productivities, variances and project risks.

Requirements:


  • A technical college, university or engineering degree with a focus in Finance or Business Administration with at least 10 y
