We are looking for an
_Assistant Manager, Financial Operations._


The Assistant Manager, Financial Operations, is a leader and a key financial resource for the Member Health and Ability team.

The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight of the financial operations teams that support the Life and Disability, Health and Dental, and Group Financial Management teams.


What you will do:


  • Live our values of integrity, partnership, excellence and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the financial operations team, including effective management of all finance related activities, such as accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Oversee the tax team, including the annual tax reporting cycle
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the financial processes and controls in the team as well as in the teams we support to ensure financial accuracy
  • Ensure financial processes are performed in compliance with ICOFR requirements
  • Determine and achieve team goals and support team with their goals and objectives (including staff performance and recruitment)
  • Collaborate with Expense team on annual budget cycle and expense management
  • Explore and implement process improvements in the team

What you will bring:


  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Professional accounting designation would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Access. Interest in Power BI and Power Apps an asset
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills
  • Welldeveloped oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Group Insurance, Group Health and Dental, and Group Life and Disability processes and systems would be a definite asset
