Work environment:


Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities.


Currently we are using a hybrid telework schedule where we are working in the office as well as working from home.

The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their workspaces.

The term Indigenous Cultural Competency includes knowledge of Indigenous peoples and refers to the ability to work effectively with Indigenous peoples from different cultural backgrounds, or in settings where several cultures co-exist.

It includes the ability to communicate and understand the culture, and behaviours of other individuals and groups, and to make appropriate recommendations.


EDUCATION:

  • Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Degree equivalency


EXPERIENCE*:

  • Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities within tight deadlines and working under pressure.
  • Experience in providing advice/guidance to management.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Experience can be gained through work, school, cultural and life experiences, community/volunteer work.
