    This posting is for future opportunities for experienced Environmental Planning professionals seeking to work on a casual basis.

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to work on a casual basis to support a wide variety of infrastructure (e.g., transit, road/highway, power, etc.) and other environmental assessment and planning projects.

    The ideal candidate will be a motivated and detail-oriented with a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience providing environmental assessment and consulting services in Canada.

    This position can be based anywhere in Canada with an option to work remote. However, must have strong work experience with Ontario environmental standards and regulations in relation to environmental assessments and permitting.
    Lead, implement and manage all aspects of environmental assessments for municipal, provincial and federal processes.

    Coordinate and guide efforts to obtain and comply with environmental approvals/permits for projects from regulatory agencies (municipal, provincial and federal).

    Act as a project manager responsible for the development and management of scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
    Manage the development and implementation of consultation and engagement programs.
    Independently coordinate and manage external subcontractors.

    Effectively delegate tasks and activities to intermediate and junior staff and providing technical and supervisory guidance on assigned tasks.

    Help to grow environmental planning / environmental assessment market share in strategic markets with a primary focus on Ontario and the Greater Toronto/ Hamilton Area.

    Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related degree.
    ~10+ years of related experience in managing/coordinating environmental assessments and securing construction permits/approvals, including experience in Ontario.
    ~ Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
    ~ Knowledge of and experience with project management fundamentals including cost control, scope management and scheduling.
    ~ Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment.
    ~ Full or Provisional membership in a professional body is an asset (e.g. Must possess a valid driver's license.
