    What You'll Do

    Reporting to the Manager, CEO/CFO Certification, you will provide support to enable CTC, SportChek, Mark's, Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS) and CT Real Estate Investment Trust (CT REIT) in the development and execution of components of the Certification program to address requirements related to securities regulations, in particular NI As the successful candidate, you will be exposed to several business units, all levels of management, and key processes and controls within the CTC group of companies.

    • Quarterly and Annual CEO/CFO Internal Control Certification (50%):
      • Work with Management to maintain internal control documentation (e.g. process narratives, flowcharts, and risk and control matrices) that accurately describes business functions and highlights appropriate business controls based on financial risk assertions.
      • Facilitate the quarterly Management control self-assessment process in support of NI internal control regulatory compliance.
      • Prepare quarterly Certification Steering Committee, Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee reports.
    • Annual Internal Control Testing (30%):
      • Assist with validating internal control testing observations with Management and assist with assessing internal control deficiencies.
      • Track and monitor internal control deficiency remediation activities and assist with assessing the adequacy of remediation action plans.
    • Annual Internal Control Scoping (10%):
      • Assist with the annual Financial Statement by Element Risk Assessment to determine quantitative and qualitative inherent risks, significant GL accounts, financial transaction cycles, financial statement assertions, map relevant key controls in scope for the fiscal year.
    • Assist with special projects as assigned (10%)

    What you bring:

    • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
    • Working towards a professional Accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
    • Working towards a professional audit/compliance certification (CIA or CCSA) is an asset.
    • Previous experience in audit/compliance or finance/accounting is an asset
    • Understanding of Accounting and Finance processes and internal controls
    • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, and data analysis skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

    Hybrid

This role will require a minimum two days a week (Mondays and Tuesdays) onsite at our Toronto campus.
