Position Summary
We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Mediabrands team.

The Finance Manager will ensure that revenue is booked by the MB Rev Rec team accurately, obtaining and providing all necessary documentation to substantiate accruals/deferrals in accordance with IPG revenue recognition policy.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with Omaha Shared Service G/L team to ensure all monthend provisions are properly booked, and all B/S accounts are reconciled appropriately with sufficient backup.
  • Oversee intercompany and direct client billing (by Analyst, Media Finance Operations)
  • Coordinate with local tax firm and IPG tax team all necessary tax filings (income tax, sales tax, etc.); prepare provisions as required for quarterend/yearend close.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects necessary to pass periodic internal or external (including client) audit testing, and to correct any deficiencies discovered as a result therefrom.
  • Ensure working capital is managed appropriately and constantly improved upon by reviewing and followingup on outstanding A/R and ensuring A/P are settled as required

Financial Reporting

  • Utilize knowledge of various data sources (budgets, actuals, projections, etc.) to build models and templates for Global Client reporting, vendor reporting, and ad hoc.
  • Use data to support new business development, investment strategy, Strategy & Partnerships team, senior leadership, and as needed.

FP&A / Budgeting

  • Working closely in partnership with the Director of Finance and entity President, the Finance Manager is fully responsible for the bottoms up build and submission of the company's Forward Plan, Annual Target/Budget, and reforecasts.
  • Investigate, explain, and resolve all revenue and expense variances as applicable (actuals against forecast, budget, prior year, etc.).
  • Complete monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reporting on revenue & expense actuals vs. budget

Operations

  • Create and enforce new procedures as necessary to accommodate new business needs or to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Work with Shared Services to ensure media system (DDS) is updated as required.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Finance, lead and mentor a team of finance professionals. Effectively communicate goals, manage workloads, provide ongoing performance feedback, support professional development and inspire great results.
  • Stay abreast of all applicable changes to IPG standard policies and procedures (SP&Ps) and ensure compliance is maintained at the local company level.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Postsecondary education
  • University/College graduate in Finance or Accounting, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CPA designation or equivalent completed.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years' of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a media agency, marketing or advertising setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work well and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; aptitude building internal/external relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an excellent ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Ability to work with confidential data while maintaining high level of discretion.
  • Advanced Excel skills strong ability to understand data structures, manipulate large volumes of data, build models, and generate insights.
  • Knowledge of Power Query/Power BI, VBA, and databases is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
