About the role


The Electro-Mechanical Technician will work alongside the R&D team to aid in the design process, manufacture components and build assemblies from design drawings, understand requirements, and come up with creative test scenarios in order to verify system functionality.

Furthermore, they will read and execute manufacturing procedures and test protocols to ensure that internal documentation procedures are met while recording results.

The individual will also evaluate, assemble, and maintain mechanical and electrical/electronic systems.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Reviewing design drawings and providing input on manufacturing feasibility.
  • Manufacturing components using brazing equipment, machines and power tools.
  • Completing mechanical builds that include sheet metal, harnesses, electrical and mechanical components.
  • Building wire harnesses using wire cutters, crimp tools and soldering equipment.
  • Executing manual/automated test cases to ensure the design meets the requirements.
  • Documenting test results and participate in engineering report development.
  • Reading and understanding electrical/electronic schematics and design drawings for the purposes of building, evaluating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing components, cabling and assemblies.
  • Participating in mechanical and electrical/electronic prototype development.
  • Working with a crossfunctional team to ensure project timelines are met.
  • In all actions, demonstrating a primary commitment to patient safety and product Quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented Quality processes and procedures.

Required qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or diploma in electrotechnical, electronic or related field.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering, brazing, drills and faulttesting equipment.
  • Technical knowledge of testing concepts for electromechanical equipment.
  • Swagelok training qualifications for NPT and tube fittings, tube cutting, tube assemblies.
  • Good documentation skills.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Good surface mount hand soldering skills.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
  • Strong problemsolving skills in a team environment.
  • An analytical and quantitative approach to work.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
