Job Summary:


The Medical Office Assistant in Medicine Place Diagnostic Imaging plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the clinic.

This position involves a combination of administrative tasks, patient care coordination, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

The primary responsibility of the Medical Office Assistant is to provide exceptional customer service to patients, maintain accurate medical records, and facilitate the overall functioning of the clinic.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Registration and Scheduling:

  • Greet patients, obtain necessary demographic and insurance information, and accurately enter it into the electronic medical records system.
  • Schedule patient appointments, ensuring appropriate coordination with diagnostic imaging procedures and physician availability.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services and procedures offered by the clinic.

Medical Records Management:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • File and organize diagnostic imaging reports, referral documents, and other relevant medical records.
  • Retrieve and prepare patient records for consultations and review by healthcare professionals.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, ensuring smooth workflows and timely delivery of diagnostic imaging services.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and other clinics to obtain and relay necessary information regarding appointments, referrals, and medical records.
  • Facilitate the sharing of diagnostic imaging reports and results with referring physicians and other healthcare providers.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist in general administrative duties such as maintaining inventory, ordering office supplies, and ensuring a clean and organized office environment.
  • Handle billing tasks, including insurance verification, claim submission, and payment processing.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of reports, documentation, and correspondence as required.

Patient Support and Care:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort during their visit to the clinic.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, explaining the process, and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Assist technologists and radiologists during imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:
Education or certification in medical office administration is preferred.

Previous experience in a medical office or diagnostic imaging clinic is highly desirable.

Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic imaging procedures, and medical records management.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and colleagues.

Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle stressful situations calmly.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week


Salary:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour
