Norstar Windows and Doors has an immediate need for an experienced CNC Machine Operator for afternoon shift.

The Machine Operator operates the following machines: CNC machine, cutting/saw machine or rolling machine


Main responsibilities include:
creating quality parts produced on machines and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams. Shift runs from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.

Experienced CNC Operator Afternoon Shift


Job Details:


  • Location: 400 McNeilly Road, Stoney Creek, ON
  • Hourly Wage:

Day Shift:
$21-23 depending on experience (+ $2/hr. afternoon shift bonus)

  • Benefits: Companypaid group medical, dental, and eyewear insurance.

Responsibilities:


  • Calibrating, resetting and / or programming individual machine to meet specifications and daily production quotas.
  • Load parts, programming and/or operating controls according to the schematics.
  • Inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Report required adjustments, deviations or issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of three years CNC machine experience
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams, drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of tools, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, saw machines
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Commitment to quality and safety

  • Avoid unnecessary conflict.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and complete daily activities according to work schedule.

Working Conditions:


  • This position may be exposed to elements such as intermittent noise, dust, heat, and cold
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment (e.g. seatbelt, safety glasses, gloves, steeltoed safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and complete repetitive tasks
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical equipment.
