Capital Power is currently seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join our amazing Renewables Operations Team

As a Business Analyst - Renewables, you will manage the Business Operating Functions of Renewables. Responsibilities will include Budgeting, Actuals Reporting, Long Term Planning, Forecasting, SharePoint management and subscription support.

You will also provide various levels of support to the Renewables on managing inventory levels at sites, managing the Renewable SharePoint sites, developing and initiating various improvement programs for the sites.

You will also ensure areas such as Purchasing, Receiving, Invoicing, Supply Chain, Accounting, Capital Planning, and Administration are conducted properly for Renewables Facilities.

You will contribute to our team by- With support from site managers, prepare and present a first draft of Renewables financial planning deliverables to the Directors, including Annual O&M and G&A budget preparation, Long Term Plan preparation, year over year comparison analysis and plan over plan analysis.- Drive the real time financial needs of the group including forecasting spending, O&M spend to budget analysis, Accounts Payable and various cost comparisons and analytics as needed.- Helping coordinate Operations due diligence support on business development activities.- Supporting and coordinating internal audits.- Supporting Directors business needs.- Assisting in building business cases and setting up logistics during emergent situations.- Assisting development, review, and tracking of operational KPI's.- Coordination of integration efforts of newly built or acquired sites, site manager onboarding and training.- Acting as liaison and point of contact for finance on accounting issues.- Ensuring appropriate quality assurance and control on AP function exists and is maintained, including oversight of AP clerk, as applicable.- Delivering expertise to all Renewables site managers and O&M managers for SharePoint and Maximo management.- Building relationships with OEMs and repair vendors, assisting vendors with SCM process.- Monitoring inventory and working with site managers to maintain proper inventory levels.- Monitoring and maintaining business processes to ensure business continuity.- Requesting and reviewing all Certificates of Insurance to ensure they meet the Capital Power standards, work closely with vendors to resolve any issues.

What you will bring to the role


Education:


  • Diploma, associate degree or bachelor's degree in business preferred.
  • Education equivalency may be considered.

Experience:

  • 25 years' experience in a related industry and/or role.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong collaboration, coordination and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with field personal in a friendly and direct manner.
  • An ability to understand and consider all aspects of a business in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal crossfunctional groups, such as, Supply Chain, Finance, and Purchasing.
  • Strong office software skills, especially in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Maximo (or equivalent CMMS software) and Oracle or equivalent.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Skilled in tracking and organizing documents both hard copies and digital.
  • Able to perform plant level financial analysis at Intermediate level.
  • Ability to track and monitor plant finances.
  • Intermediate ability to monitor and identify solutions to plant business processes.
  • Strong ability to influence/persuade others when needed.
  • Ability to quarterback the efforts and relationships of many people in the Renewables group.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with mínimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
