The Gardener plays a vital role in the care and maintenance of our outdoor spaces, ensuring that they are vibrant, healthy, and visually appealing.
Working under the direction of the Grounds Manager, the Gardener is responsible for performing a variety of gardening tasks to nurture plants, flowers, trees, and other vegetation.
This position requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for horticultureDuties and Responsibilities:
- Plant, cultivate, and maintain a wide variety of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees according to seasonal schedules and landscaping plans.
- Prune, trim, and shape plants and trees to maintain desired size, shape, and appearance.
- Monitor plants for signs of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, and implement appropriate pest control and disease management measures.
- Weed, rake, and clean garden beds, pathways, and outdoor areas to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as watering, mowing, edging, and leaf blowing using manual and power tools.
- Assist with landscape construction projects, including planting, grading, and hardscape installation, as needed.
- Collaborate with the landscaping team to coordinate tasks, prioritize projects, and ensure timely completion of work.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of horticultural principles, plant care techniques, and gardening best practices.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees commonly found in the local area.
- Ability to operate gardening tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highquality workmanship.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
