Description

Lead the development and implementation of effective WSIB EPMO Portfolio Governance practices that support the corporate processes for selecting, optimizing, prioritizing, and executing an enterprise program and project portfolio in line with the WSIB's strategic and corporate business plans.


Lead EPMO Portfolio Governance teams in defining, managing, and monitoring the processes, frameworks, and guidelines/standards (e.g., enterprise gating, enterprise change control, benefits realization) for making decisions, providing oversight, ensuring controls, and overseeing integration within portfolio components.


In support of WSIB's strategic and corporate business plans, guide EPMO Portfolio Governance teams in providing benefits realization consultation services to senior management and operational business areas for identification, documentation, calendarization, and realization monitoring of targeted program/project benefits.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage WSIB EPMO Portfolio Governance practices that support the WSIB corporate processes for selecting, optimizing, prioritizing, and executing an enterprise program and project portfolio in line with the WSIB's strategic and corporate business plans.
  • Lead and manage EPMO Portfolio Governance teams in defining, managing, and monitoring the processes, frameworks, and guidelines/standards (e.g., enterprise gating, enterprise change control, benefits realization) for making decisions, providing oversight, ensuring controls, and overseeing integration within portfolio components.
  • Provide ongoing support for WSIB portfolio governance meetings (e.g., portfolio governance committees/bodies) as well as reporting requirements (e.g., dashboards, option/strategic analyses, risk and issue logs, actions, decisions, etc.).
  • Develop, manage, maintain and serve as a champion/coach/strategic advisor for the WSIB EPMO gating; change control; and benefits realization frameworks/processes (and supporting tools/templates/guidelines), in collaboration with portfolio components (e.g., programs, projects) and WSIB business areas.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain evolving and dynamic portfolio governance intake, prioritization, decision, and escalation criteria/guidelines/thresholds in collaboration with portfolio governance committees/bodies.
  • Help to set and manage the agenda for portfolio governance committees/bodies, including ensuring clarity on decisions and escalations requiring direction.
  • Facilitate ongoing strategic portfolio planning and management, including developing, managing, and monitoring supporting portfolio integrations (e.g., collisions, dependencies, etc.) and capacity assessments/analyses (in collaboration with the strategic planning team as well as other key WSIB stakeholders).
  • Support the identification, development, and implementation of portfolio optimization techniques.
  • Act as first escalation point to help resolve conflicts, risks, and/or issues related to issues or changes in the corporate portfolio.
  • Lead the EPMO portfolio reporting process including the development and maintenance of reports, in collaboration with the EPMO Portfolio Finance team and the EPMO Portfolio Delivery team.
  • Effectively liaise with key portfolio governance stakeholders from across WSIB to ensure their inputs are represented and portfolio governance practices/processes are aligned (e.g., ECM, ITC, Privacy, Security, Internal Audit, Financial Planning & Operations, etc.)
  • Working with the EPMO Delivery and EPMO Portfolio Governance teams, monitor that programs/projects are adhering to the guidelines/standards set by the WSIB EPMO (e.g., status reporting, gating, change control, etc.).
  • Provide leadership and guidance to WSIB's senior management related to their portfolio components.
  • Provide advice on the corporate program/project selection and prioritization process, including guidance based on current portfolio governance intake, prioritization, decision, and escalation criteria/guidelines/thresholds and feedback on draft program/project artifacts.
  • Collaborate and foster relationships with internal stakeholders to communicate information and decisions regarding the portfolio; to identify internal WSIB business area portfolio component and integration needs; and to discuss and resolve portfolio issues/risks.
  • Ensure that portfolio investments and initiatives are aligned and integrated with the corporate strategy and priorities.
  • Facilitate and support WSIB business areas in articulating, documenting, and tracking/monitoring benefits being targeted by their programs/projects.
  • Plan, manage and control the activities of direct reports within EPMO Portfolio Governance
