    Description

    Reporting to the Head of Nature and Closure, the Manager, Ecosystem Restoration is responsible for leading and supporting efforts related to on-site and off-site biodiversity reclamation, rehabilitation and restoration (collectively referred to as restoration) across the company.

    This role leads restoration-related tool and guidance development, training, internal and external presentations, and external engagement.

    The Manager, Ecosystem Restoration provides guidance on restoration planning and management, subject matter expert input and review, and identifies internal and external best practices and disseminates that knowledge throughout the company through documentation and working closely with internal teams.

    The role manages and governs restoration-related research and development. Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental policies and procedures.
    Lead restoration tool and guidance development, training, internal and external presentations, and external engagement.

    Coach sites to achieve conformance with restoration components of biodiversity and closure Controlled Documents and sustainability goals including the Environment Standard and Closure Standard, including guidance to site senior management to ensure current restoration activities and budget facilitate achievement of objectives.

    Work with and lead site teams to develop progressive and final restoration plans that meet regulatory requirements and reduce reliance on biodiversity offsetting, assist in plan execution, and assist in the identification of subject matter expert support.

    Provide governance for the development, execution, monitoring and reporting of site-based restoration research and development programs.

    Lead the development of transformational restoration practices and projects by identifying, assessing, and prioritizing using a stage gate process.

    Represent the company in restoration-related interactions with government and regulatory officials, Indigenous groups, non-governmental organizations and other communities of interest, as required.

    Identify trends in restoration requirements and help to position the company to ensure guidance and practice reflects those trends.

    Lead corporate and support site-level restoration reporting.
    Strong experience with restoration planning and execution.
    Demonstrated success in working with operations and communities of interest.
    Minimum 10 years' experience in restoration project management.
    Technical knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and effective industry practices.

    Strong project management experience with a track record that includes management of multiple projects and project budgets in excess of $10 million.

    Degree in an environmental or sustainability-related field.
    Ability to speak Spanish is an asset.
