As part of our Innovation and Technology Group, your work will lead the Innovation Hub @ YVR which leverages the assets of YVR across Sea Island as a platform of innovation to test and trial technologies to align YVR's strategy with innovative thinking. Innovations range from improving passenger experiences, cargo operations, facilities maintenance, airside operations, energy management, sustainable aviation fuel, advanced air mobility, and more. Strategically you will explore possibilities and implement innovations that support YVR's purpose of serving our community and the economy that supports it.

Position overview

Reporting to the Director, Innovation, the Manager, Innovation is responsible for leading the advancement of the Innovation Hub @ YVR supporting the overall organizational strategy to deliver new products, services, and solutions that make our employees, partners, and passengers more efficient and effective. The successful candidate will consult with internal stakeholders to advise on the value and risk of innovative opportunities and engage with a variety of external stakeholders to collaborate, influence, and market innovative technologies developed by YVR.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and refine the innovation program strategy to ensure its alignment with the organization's long-term goals and objectives
• Take charge of researching, identifying, developing, implementing, and commercializing products and services and conduct evaluations and assessments of emerging technologies
• Source and cultivate strategic partnership opportunities for the Innovation Hub @ YVR, engaging with stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and driving forward innovation projects
• Take the lead in negotiating commercial deals, including defining the structure and essential terms for all commercially viable products
• Research funding opportunities and lead the submission of proposals
• Manage complex budgets and meet the financial reporting requirements set forth from funding sources

Key qualifications include:

• At least 3 years of recent relevant experience, supplemented by an additional 5 years experience leading and coaching teams
• Bachelor's degree in business or another related field
• Chartered Professional Accountant Designation is an asset
• Knowledge of software and technology development to support solution design
• Previous budgeting experience and financial skills are an asset
• A combination of education, training and experience may be considered

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $117,040 to $168,245 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target at 15% of your annual salary.
