LOWER MAINLAND PURPOSE SOCIETY

Position:
Handyman


Hours of Work:
hours per week


Available:
Immediately


Wages: 23.00 / Hour


Responsibilities:

Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of three buildings in New Westminster.

  • Responsible for basic building repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical and HVAC and others jobs related to each of the three buildings)
  • Maintain the lighting throughout the three buildings
  • Remove graffiti from the outside buildings
  • Moving furniture and equipment's as needed
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
  • Wash parking lot corridors and pick up the garbage in the parking lots of two buildings
  • Keep the front and back of one building clean.
  • At least twice per year (especially before rainy season begins) check one roof for debris and make sure roof drains are clear of bird feathers
  • Make sure front and back walks of buildings are free of debris, needles and weeds, pressure wash walks entries
- when is needed.

  • Identify and report the need for major repairs.

Qualifications:


  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Good communications skills
  • Experience using various tools
  • Well organized with the ability to trouble shoot
  • Criminal record check may be required
