Here's how a(n) Data Scientist for our Edmonton Industrial Management office contributes to our team:


Responsibilities:


  • Build datadriven products for business use.
  • Prepare data sets and pipelines for exploratory analysis, statistical and ML modeling, and downstream use.
  • Help your colleagues assess AI/ML model performance and propose paths for potential improvement.
  • Prepare data visualizations using industryleading tools to develop and summarize insights for stakeholders.
  • Document your results tell the story of the work, the successes, and the lessons learned for posterity.
  • Propose and train machine learning systems using data annotation and benchmarking techniques.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to Travel: Depending on the company and role, some travel to project sites may be required for data collection, meetings, or onsite analysis.

Qualifications:


  • BSc or MSc in computing science, engineering, applied mathematics or similar.
  • Postgraduate certification or diploma in data science and a demonstrated commitment to progressive learning.
  • 35 years' experience in industrial or AEC industries is helpful.
  • Excellent analytical skills the ability to quickly analyze processes and data to identify and visualize key insights as evidenced by projects requiring the analysis of large datasets on complex processes.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and creativity in developing new approaches to a product or analysis.
  • Experience with building analytical and predictive models using both traditional statisticallearning models (think scikit) and deep learning frameworks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. You'll work with both experts in the field as well as business staff; adaptive, precise, and flexible communication with a breadth of partners and audiences is necessary.
  • Technical experience includes the Pydata stack, Tensorflow/Keras, R, Tableau/PowerBI/D3 visualization, graph processing, Spark/Databricks, SQL, extensile lowcode deployment platforms like Streamlit or Retool, git/GitHub.
