Payroll Clerk duties and responsibilities

  • Verify employee hours worked
  • Update salary information when employees receive a raise or bonus
  • Ensure all banking information for each employee is correct
  • Create supporting documentation such as pay slips
  • Create reports to manage payroll payments, deductions, and other regular modifications
  • Electronically submit all information to the Office Manager so pays can be issued on time
  • Manage payroll errors and correct issues for employees
  • Enter new employees into the QuickBooks and Payroll software
  • Payroll filing

Payroll Clerk skills and qualifications

  • Ability to be organized with a strong eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Outstanding accounting and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written in English
  • Strong data processing skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop

Salary:
$16.00-$17.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:


  • Payroll: 1 year (preferred)
