Job summary
This position is for a personal support worker in a nursing home or home for the aged. The job involves providing care and companionship to patients. Tasks include supplying and emptying bed pans, taking patients blood pressure temperature and pulse serving meal trays and feeding patients weighing lifting turning and positioning patients making beds maintaining patients rooms bathing dressing grooming transporting patients in wheelchair or stretcher collecting specimens administering first aid in emergency situations providing personal care providing companionship performing light housekeeping cleaning duties laundering clothing household linens administering bedside personal care feeding assisting clients with bathing other aspects of personal hygiene.
