POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Clinical Manager of the Placement Pass Program is accountable for the clinical leadership and human resource management of the Placement Pass nurse team.

They will ensure excellence in the service delivery provided by clinical staff and alignment with quality and performance indicators including regulatory requirements and organizational policy and procedure.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide clinical leadership and act as key consultant and educator on student preplacement verification requirements.
  • Develop and strengthen a positive working relationship with academic faculty and administrative support staff
  • Support student placement compliance by responding to clinical questions and concerns from school staff and students.
  • Create and provide virtual training to groups of students, school staff and Placement Pass nurses.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of any documentation inconsistencies identified by the nursing team.
  • Respond to student and school requests in a manner that meets legislative, regulatory and best practice expectations including review, analysis and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize opportunities and integrate best practices to ensure the organization's risk management processes meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure completion of all mandatory training and skill development
  • Monitor Placement Pass service delivery performance and clinical indicators.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Pass Support Team in CQI activities related to the program.
  • Participate in the interviewing, orientation, ongoing supervision and performance management of Placement Pass nurses.
  • Create and maintain the nurse schedules, optimizing the # of staff required to ensure completion of student submissions within the contracted time frame.
  • Work collaboratively within the Placement Pass Support Team providing clinical support and direction to school staff, students, and Placement Pass nurses.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development
  • Champion alignment with corporate policy and lead clinical change initiatives
  • Show respect for cultural needs, dignity, privacy and confidentiality of staff and students.
  • Ensure compliance with ParaMed policies, procedures and legal requirements for yourself and all staff.
  • Able to provide a current, clear criminal back check with Vulnerable Sector Check (VPS)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse with provincial regulatory college
  • BScN preferred
  • Experience in occupational health, public health and/ or immunizations considered an asset
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a formal nursing leadership role required
  • Working knowledge of applicable health care legislation including Privacy / Personal Health Information Act, Canadian Immunization Guidelines, Canadian Tuberculosis Standards
  • Superior oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with school faculty and management, students and potential new customers
  • Effective skills in critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong customer relation aptitude to interact and resolve customer escalations
  • Proven coach who can lead, motivate and mentor others
  • Strong facilitator who can communicate effectively with broad audiences
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fastpaced environment
