JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:


The responsibilities of the Apprentice Truck and Coach Technician include but are not limited to inspecting trucks, performing basic repairs, ordering parts, and taking inventory.

As a truck and coach technician apprentice, you will be working under our shop supervisor and our team of experienced mechanics to learn the trade.


SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:


  • Following company related checklists to inspect and tests trucks and trailers.
  • Learning repair techniques under the guidance of our mechanics.
  • Maintaining the workshop and keeping inventory areas well organized.
  • Be able to work outside and in all sorts of weather conditions.
  • Report any major repairs on truck and trailers to Shop Supervisor.
  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
  • Rewire lights, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have their own set of tools required for the position.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanics
  • Strong communication skills
  • Certification/Education in Mechanics
  • Maintain a safe clean work area, follow all government & Company Safety & Environmental requirements and policies and procedures.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Belle River, ON N0R 1A0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
