As a Counter Salesperson, you will offer sales assistance to walk-in customers at our Profit Centre counters. Providing top-notch customer service by managing, stocking, and maintaining a clean sales counter area. Additionally, you will aid customers by addressing inquiries, selecting and inputting orders, and ensuring timely follow-up on any outstanding orders. Moreover, you will contribute support to the Inside Sales and Outside Sales departments.

Additional responsibilities will involve:

• Supporting customers making purchases at the Profit Centre counters
• Researching products for customers and giving recommendations from our product range
• Driving sales growth by taking charge of counter merchandising, product promotions, and generating leads for the Outside Account Manager through customer interactions at the counter
• Inputting, selecting, and packaging sales orders generated at the counter
• Keeping the counter area tidy and organized, including any display setups
• Notifying the buyer of low stock levels
• Chasing up on backorders with suppliers and providing customers with precise delivery timelines
• Unloading and receiving products
• Handling returns and warranty claims for customers on both account and cash sales, including necessary paperwork following all protocols
• Addressing and resolving customer concerns and complaints efficiently
• Completing other assigned tasks by the Profit Centre Manager

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; College or University degree is a bonus
• Exceptional customer service and verbal communication capabilities
• Strong relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, and colleagues
• Proficiency in learning and utilizing the relevant software system for order processing
• Previous experience in a dynamic work environment
• Solid math skills with keen attention to detail
• Aptitude to learn operation of material handling equipment
• Demonstrating a robust work ethic and high integrity standards
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience or knowledge of plumbing and construction products retailed at the Profit Centre
• Capability to leverage the Internet as a tool to troubleshoot and find alternate solutions for customers
