OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will be an integral resource required to assist in all areas of accounting including cost accounting, financial close process and reporting


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare reconciliations for assigned accounts ensuring balances are valid and appropriate support exists
  • Perform closing duties (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
  • Perform expenses reconciliation and accounting duties
  • Review and suggest improvements to existing processes, procedures and internal controls
  • Manage capital assets workbook and related amortization
  • Prepares various reports including SR&ED and conducts ad hoc projects as required
  • Assist other accountants in the department as necessary
  • Works with internal and external auditors in providing documentation/information
  • Act as backup for daily cash reconciliations and input into the weekly cash flow model
  • Assist with project accounting and revenue recognition including percentage revenue recognition as per USGAAP ASC 60
  • Backup for ERP maintenance (COA, standard costing, supplier and customer maintenance)
  • Pricing support (reviewing profitability for nonlist pricing proposals)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business/accounting/finance and professional accounting designation
  • Ability to administer moderately complex accounting functions under general supervision
  • Excellent computer skills (MS office, Strong Excel, MS Word, MS access / SQL server)
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting
  • Exceptional problem solving ability
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Exposure to cost accounting and ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of data base structure
