Job Description:


How You'll Make an Impact:

Operations
  • Leads implementation plans for environmental service programs, ensures compliance to all programs, including quality assurance auditing, customer feedback surveys, safety audits, safety initiatives, efficiency initiatives, and provides reports and recommendations regarding operational efficiencies.

HR, Training & Hiring Related
  • Manages, coaches, motivates and develops direct reports, which may include managers, supervisors and/or frontline employees, collaborates with HR and Union to resolve issues, respond to grievances and interpret CBA, meets with Union and consults on other LR/Union related issues. Ensures completion of safety training and compliance. Audits performance and work ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, arranges for new and remedial training, performs performance management, coaching discussions and discipline as required. Oversees and/or directs the hiring and staffing for the area of responsibility to ensure appropriate staffing levels and adherence to labour budgets.

Safety

  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual safety checks and inspections as required, performs safety observations on employees, conducts regular safety walks and trainings, conducts safety investigations, completes reporting on all safety related tasks, ensures compliance within IMS system for training and physical safety tasks as appropriate.

Procurement

  • Oversees the procurement of equipment and supplies to ensure adequate supply and distribution of consumables and supplies. Oversees the sourcing of alternate options in the event of shortages, specialized products and to ensure optimal pricing is maintained. Assists with the preparation of budgets for equipment and supplies as well as labour and ensures adherence to all relevant budgets

Scheduling - Dispatches and prioritizes work assignments and employees ensuring client needs and expectations are met in accordance with contract or oversees dispatch of same. Arranges and allocates resources to special project cleaning assignments ensuring client expectations are met. Processes or oversees the processing of Kronos (time and attendance) and payroll functions for area of oversight as required


Qualifications:


What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Post
- secondary degree or diploma in management, business or related field or related field or equivalent education and experience

  • 23 years' experience in a Soft Services environment in a hospital or related healthcare environment Acute / LTC or Seniors Living
  • Enrolment in Canadian Association of Environmental Management (CAEM) / Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers Association (OHHA)/ Ontario Hospital Administration (OHA) Level 1 certification /ON, Westech Auditor certification
  • Superior communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and multitasking skills
  • Familiar with "lean" principles
  • Prior experience and proven success with training methods and techniques
  • Working knowledge of Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) documents
