COMPANY
We are currently recruiting for a Glazing Draftsperson to join our growing team. Ideally, this person is an energetic, forward-thinking individual with experience working within the glazing industry.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Prepare shop drawing packages for architectural approval,
• Prepare detailed fabrication and component drawings for factory production,
• Prepare detailed assembly drawings for field installation department,
• Prepare 2D and 3D architectural sketch drawings, as may be required
• Prepare glass and aluminum materials takeoff
• Prepare glass panel drawings for glass orders
• Prepare and assemble RFI documentation
• Work closely with project managers in developing detailed construction documentation using site verified dimensions for various project stages
• Participate in all technical tasks related to building enclosures including strong understanding of structural, thermal and durability performance.
• Strong understanding of constructability, building envelope principles, thermal performance, and moisture and drainage strategies.
• Actively participate in technical and professional associations.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Manager, Drafting Department

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient with computer software such as AutoCAD 2019, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Inventor
• Ability to write custom AutoCAD programs, a plus
• Knowledge and experience with aluminum curtain wall systems, storefront systems, aluminum composite panels, aluminum sheets, glass balustrades, glass railings in the glazing industry
• Able to understand, extract information, and work with Architectural, Structural, and MEP construction documents;
• Mandatory Curtain wall / glazing system fabrication and testing experience
• Project & team management experience, a plus.
• Ability to work successfully in a collaborative teamoriented environment.
• Strong time management skills
• Must be organized and selfmotivated
• Strong mathematical skills an asset
• Bachelor's degree with a focus in Engineering Technology, or Architectural Technology, & Construction design

Working conditions
This position requires the employee to work mainly in an office environment with occasional site visits.

Employee must be able to sit, stand for extended periods of time, possess a valid driver's permit and the ability to work odd/ extra hours to accommodate project deadlines.

Due to the nature of this position an enhanced reliability screening will be conducted prior to employment


Physical requirements

Position requires high levels of mental acuity, keyboarding skills, ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time, occasional exposure to inclement weather may be required.

Pay:
$70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
